Dr. Ronwarit Pariyachattrakul from Roi Et Province is CEO of Kritsanakorn Organic Farm Company Limited and the director of the E-san Organic Community Enterprise Network (ECEAN) This group of farmers has more than 3,400 members, farming over 90,000 rais of rice in the area of Northeastern Thailand called E-san.
He was appointed as Agricultural Philosopher of the Nation of Wisdom and Knowledge for the Thai Agricultural Sector and received the royal trophy from the King.
He received a Smart Farmer Award in the field of agricultural product innovation from the Department of Agricultural Extension along with Ruam Duay Chuay Kan, Sam Nuek Rak Ban Kerd Foundation and Total Access Communication Company Limited or DTAC. These awards are made annually.
The Story Dr.Ronwarit was awarded a King Scholarship from His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. This allowed him to complete his studies and become a valuable person in society.After graduating, Dr.Ronwarit first worked as a teacher and began to transfer his knowledge on organic agriculture to farmers and students. In 2005, Dr.Ronwarit became interested in organic rice farming becasue the health statistics showed an increase in illnesses caused by the accumulation of harmful substances in the body through ongoing contamination in food. To find solutions, Dr.Ronwarit started farming and encouraged people around him to grow organic rice. Kritsanakorn have been certified as complying with international organic standards by the Control Union, the well-known organization with responsibility for certifying organic standards and other documents. The Control Union issues a certificate stating that the manufacturer manages and controls the rice-growing process and complies with safety standards.
